When using a scuba tank, it is essential to create an airtight seal between the tank valve and the first stage of the regulator. O-rings will naturally degrade with use or exposure to sunlight and salt air, so it's recommended to have spare ones on hand in a dive kit. It's also wise to check with equipment manufacturers for the appropriate durometer before installation.
